LETHAL DESIGN
An absolute BANG! The MUDAC presents LIGNE DE MIRE a thrilling exhibition that explores the gun culture through the eyes of contemporary artists and designers.
10 impact-full rooms. Walking through the exhibition is examining duality; the firearms as objects of cult and inspiration, the beauty concealing their deadly purpose and the gun culture as a lifestyle and a social issue.
The curated choice. My favourite pieces are Manstopper, the rug made of bullet shell casings, designed and hand-woven by Raul Martinez, Uzi mon ammour by Ted Noten, and The AK47 vs The M16 by The Propeller Group.
A jam-up lineup. The exhibition showcases powerful pieces from Michel Aubry, Mircea Cantor, Kyle Cassidy, Yi-Fei Chen, Johanna Dahm, ECAL/Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne, Al Farrow, Sylvie Fleury, Parastou Forouhar, Susan Graham, Clara Ianni, An-Sofie Kesteleyn, Herlinde Koelbl, Claire Lieberman, Robert Longo, Gonçalo Mabunda, Raul Martinez, Jennifer Meridian, PostlerFerguson, Ted Noten, Mary O’Malley, Mai-Thu Perret, The Propeller Group, Antonio Riello, Edwin Sanchez, Lisa Sartorio, Philippe Starck, Sharif Waked, Brigitte Zieger, and Ralph Ziman.
